everybody's birthday! yay!

Friday night was great fun, went to martanat-stuben-turd-rowan's (thats 6 peopel) birthday party at the playboy mansion, which was ridiculous amounts of fun the decor/lighting was amazing in ALL the party rooms, i especially liked the womb with the galexy light, there were a lot of good people, lots of chats and hugs and puddles and dancing and running around being silly and all the fun things most DMF parties have and then some! saturday was Julians birthday, left the playboy mantion sat afternoon went to Julians place for a hour or so of sleep, the plan was dinner and a movie, where the wild things are, but i was soooo tired i only really had energy for the dinner, which was awesome and yum, went to a really nice japanese restaurant on la trobe st in the city, but after that i crashed out quite solidly to catch up on some ZZzzz's.

Sunday morning i forgot about the Design market i was going to go to with Amanda and co. (DOH!) but that afternoon went to a lovely picnic for Li's birthday in the Fitzroy gardens, it was nice weather for it, tho we did have to play a bit of 'chase the shadow', after that jules went to his place to play some nerd games and i decided to got to vic markets to get some new sunglasses as my pervious pair had been sat on and broken, got there when they were packing everything up but still managed to fin a nice pair of glasses and a cool hat, also visited a pet store on the way back to jule's place to see their kittens and they let me hold this:

>.< sooo cuuuuuute! it was 5 weeks old and as big as my hand!

went back to julians and slept some more while nerd games were on, Twigz gave me a ride home while Julian went to see a movie with his brother, and i watched some tv shows at home till julian showed up and it was sleepy time.

over all a brilliant weekend full of awesome friends and fun! yay!

unexpected long weekend

last weekend was an unexpected long weekend as i was given Friday off due to the creative director taking a lot longer than expected to sale his new yacht from Sydney to Melb.

Spent Thursday night at jules place, which is always nice, slept in a bit Friday morning then went to MSY for a new PSU CPU powesupply thingie for my computer, tho it was pretty damn hot it went pretty smoothly, no train cancelations and they were well air conditioned, i was well supised.

Got home and installed it and was revealed for my computer to not have the horrible sound of broken fan griding in it, tho i have not noticed the Motherboard fan is the loudest thing now... but its not a broken loud so i guess it'll be fine for a while >.> rest of the afternoon was spent lounging around and plying Wii till ash and steve-dave got home, then off with Ash to AJ's birthday dinner in Richmond.

was a good night, yum foood, good company and drinks then down the road to victoria gardens for bowling and more drinks. i was pretty lousy at the bowling tihng (its not like wii bowling at all!) but by the end of the 2nd game i had thrown at least 2 strikes and didnt loose so that was pretty cool. didnt end up having a late one tho, stoped in at julians to pic up some of his game stuff for the next day, i was so tired i fell asleep in the car, and went back to the pokemon ranch for sleeps.

Sat was good, while the boys were playing gorkamorka in the dining room, i played wii for a bit then spent the rest of the afternoon playing Sims3, when they were done gaming i went back to julians for dinners and watching some black books.

Sunday i had work at converse, and it all jsut went so wrong, i had called in sick to last weekends shift so i had called monday to find out my shift for this weekend, was told i had Sunday 10-6pm, got there, turns out i was down for 12-5, so i was told i could work 10-3pm, damn it. after that the efpos machines wernt working most of the morning so that was a bit hetic, then there was a evacuation of south warf hich was exciting/fun, hurding stupid customers from the store "can i try on a medium first? i'll be quick""NO GTFO!" locking up, then going out to the bus stop to wait for news of what was going on, 4 fire trucks rolled up, stories were running around about how maybe someone had been electricuted by loose wires and water leaking in (they are still building a lot of the stores) and possible fires and such, but someone had jsut accidentally set it off. was awesome getting paid to goof off! i also got a awesome new pair of fluro green con's that i couldn't go past, they are soooo awesome, tho it defiantly means i am not allowed to spend any money on things i dont need for a long while now. after that went home and played some more wii then stayed up waaaaay to late watching Californication.

Good weekend is good

this weekend left me pretty happy and feeling accomplished which is nice.

Friday night went to the sweatshop with ash and steve-dave to hang out with people and play rock band, as it was pretty hot in the dungeon there was not so much rock band and more hanging out chatting in the lounge which was really nice, i ended up staying the night for some light shenanigans with Luke, leighbear, sledge and Adam, lots of good music, dancing round and chats. tho there was one stress i could have done without it was overall a very enjoyable night, talking silly with Luke is fun :)

got a rid home the next morning after not sleeping, julian had his wisdom teeth out that morning and was coming over to hang out and recover in air conditioned goodness and before he arrived i decided since i was still awake and home in a reasonable time i was going to be productive and go to chadstone to get a few things, seemed like such a good idea at the time but once i got there instantly wished i hadn't goan and wanted to leave as soon as possible, but i timed it well and rushed through getting everything i wanted/needed and getting to the bus stop with 5min to spare. notable things i go on this trip was a new fishie for my tank and a Wii fit pack that came with the board, wii fit plus, rechargeable batteries and a snowboarding game, which is great fun on the board. got home to be reminded by sms that i had a friends birthday drinks that night, milled around the house for a bit longer and after the new fish was introduced to the tank i had a few hours sleep before heading into the city to the Red Violin, i was just panning on going for one or two drinks then heading home, but some friends i havent seen for ages turned up and i ended up staying rather late and drinking much more than intended, it was good fun.

next morning i was woken up by a text from Kat asking if i was still coming to a brunch she had organised for people to meet here sister :( i had completely forgotten (sorry!) and there was no way for me to get to it in a reasonable time, so i missed out on meeting sister Kat, which makes me a sad panda, but ended up watching Up with Julian (awesome movie) playing with my Wii in the morning then got to giving the house a good cleaning with broom power, gave the fishtank a proper clean up, got all my washing done, sort out my cloths and made a bag of old things for salvos and tidied my room, had a nice dinner with jules then decided it was a nice night for a walk so we went out to see if we could find the local pool but found a playground instead that we played on before going back home to watch some Dollhouse and sleep.

Longer you leave it, more to type, more to remeber.

a post prompted by Amanda, realised if i didnt write about whats been going on soon it would all go into that hazy fog of memories and life lived stuff, and there are a few notable things that i want to remember somewhere. tho already i am having to consult my phone calender for prompts of what i have done the last few weeks. but WHATEVER, first up work stuff.

Gecko Work has been going great, the people i work with are nice, i am not only learning stuff about print design stuff but also stepping a bit into industrial design and photography (Canon EOS 30D is my toy to play with, shiny). all is looking good and it looks like i am going to have a good job for quite a while which is nice :) in a introductory email sent to everyone we work with (tho sent 3weeks after i started) said "Kelly has already shown in her first 2 weeks she will be a great addition to Gecko with her design flair and creativity." which is awesome, makes me feel all warm and fuzzzy on my insides.

Converse is going ok too, tiring standing up for hours at a time, the last saturday was actually really fun, the people i get along well with were on, there were things to do rather than just standing around asking customers if they want help aaand i got to put on my iPod of music that i had made a special list of "converse safe"(aka no swearing) music which everyone enjoyed, introduced them to awesome music from Juno Reactor, Trentmoller, Twelve foot ninja, Infected mushroom and even some Katamari songs :D which was sweeet, good music makes work better. not sure how much longer i am going to keep up with it tho, finding the whole working 6-7 days a week pretty exhausting, tho its kinda nice having things to put all that excess energy i usually have bubbling around into. if anyone wants some cheap converse shoes let me know soon what size you are and what style you want and i can get you a %25 discount on them, i am planning on getting a few different styles before quitting.

K.O psy & Strippers was great fun, got rather drunk at the club, talked a lot of crap, danced around a bunch, most memorable thing was when leighbear was getting a dance on stage and the stripper set him on fire! it was so much WIN! and kupp played his part well when he was up on stage, was very amused by his reactions to to stripper :) after all that it was off to Kupps place for continued shenanigans, had a awesome time, despite me being a bit bratty at the start whining about kupps housemates music that was playing while we waited for the equipment and real music to get there.
the night was full of fun and awesome chats with people and went well into Saturday afternoon, when kupp declared he needed his sleeps, Andrew invited the few of us left back to his place for rockband, tho i was silly and took something before we left which broke my brain worse than it has ever been broken before, experience i do not ever wish to repeat, a lot i dont remember, people were awesome and looked after me as much as they could and someone got Julian there to take me to his place. felt really bad about it, but glad to have such great friends around. working at converse the next day was no fun either tho i was glad that i had recovered enough to do it. also forgot to call mum on her birthday (WHOOPS) but called her first thing the next day and lucky she wasn't mad.

Monday night, had dinner with Kat at Fish at Shanghi dumplings, which was a bit hot, but food was good, company was great and we had a bottle of red, after food we went to Lounge bar where they were having 2 for 1 cocktails and devoured a buch of those, Julian also joined us which was awesome sauce, got a bit more tipsy than planned, but it was fun!

Tuesday, Cup day, went too the Fen for Cup day BBQ, it was Great, good food, good people, was really a nice relaxing afternoon, it was a bit of a last min decision for me to go, but i am glad i went.

Ravelations was great too, met up with people at Andrew/selinas for pre-drink, hanging out and chats, win, headed to the hi-fi bar at about 1am ish, music was gooood! lazers were AWESOME, had some guy try and hit on me which was funny, went along the lines of "you have a boyfriend""yes""where is he""home sleeping""why isnt he here?""he has things to do tomorrow""he is a lucky man""Yeah i know, i'm Awesome"*stand up to dance with Andrew/Luke/Leigh/Zane ect. people are weird, there wer not all that many people there but it was kinda nice that way, room to dance, wasnt all hot and sweaty and the music, did i mention it was good? after that people decided to get some Hungry Jacks for foods, which i found a bit traumatizing seeing a obese, very trashed girl, in skimpy too tight cloths, devour at least 6 different kinds of burgers in a row, she was still eating more when i was to horrified by it to sit anymore and left with Andrew, i felt pretty bad for her by how grossed out i was by it. but that was pretty quickly forgotten once we got back to Andrew/Selina's for more beers and to watch a awesome MSI concert DVD leighbear had brought it was cool, then at about 9am i bailed to go wake Jule's up and pass out, was exhausting but fun. spend the rest of Sunday lolling around Jule's apartment before going home to my nice air conditioned house. yaaay.

so that about it, all the major things anyway up to date :) writing this out has made me think how great the people i am friends with are and that life for me right now is going really good :) been a long while since i have been able to say that honestly, thank you all for being awesome!

First week!

update on last week, been meaning to say something about it sooner but i am preeeetty darn tired, its been 11 days of work, tiring, but a good kind of tiring!

first up Converse, its not bad, worked the last 2 weekends, had stupid customers but no bad ones, its not exactly tricky work, but i wasnt expecting it to be, so far i have been put in the Chucks section which is good and bad, only bad cause i want ALL OF THEM! and i can put my iPod of music on when i am there so i dont have to listen to crappy music while i work, woot! tho standing for hours at a time Fricken hurt the feeet! ouch!

Now Gecko, it has been Great, it was almost a shock how nice the guys i work with are! (ITS A TRAP!... ok maybe not) first day was a bunch of introduction stuff, the programs for me hadn't arrived yet so they set me to finish installing other things on the computer and setting it up just how i like it and having a play round with some websites/programs they use, also was given the job to start designing a character that will possible be used for special collectors edition iPod/iPhone covers with the potential of more if this one goes well, so i got to spend the afternoon drawing which was nice! might post some of my fave sketches later. and i got to leave at 5:30pm! how exciting not having to work overtime for no money, its like i have stepped into a new world or something. rest of the week went really fast, did some work with keynotes, and learnt how to set up some packaging for some new products, also got to kit out my iPhone with stuff i had been meaning to buy but hadn't got around too, like screen guard/protective cover etc. i am finding it all rather exciting, a lot of what they do i have never done before so its interesting and there is the potential that i will eventually be able to actually design products for iPods/iPhones which i think is pretty cool. its been good, its been boosting my confidence in my ability's which is something i have been somewhat lacking... not any more bitches, its kinda funny sometimes how it takes being put into a good situation to realise how shit the old one was *shrugs* tis all past stuff now and i wont be putting up with the shit i did again. so yeah, go me!

was great when selina and Andrew came over for dinner last Wednesday, got to hear lots of Japan stories :) Friday night Ash's dad arrived, he was really nice :) hadn't planned on it but ended up going with them to Jane's Friends art exhibition thing, the mermaid stuff was pretty amazing, loved the picture with the white eyes o.o, then went with ash and his dad for tai dinner. worked sat day at converse, Sat night went with Selina, Andrew and Julian to Pony bar to see Twelve Foot Ninja, Zane was there and a few bands played before TFN, i really liked Zane's girl's (Laura?) band, specially the song called 'Bi-polar Bear' the other 2 bands were ok and TFN were AWESOME, got somewhat(very) more drunk than planned, but got to shake hands with some of the TFN guys which i was stoked about, think i may have even gotten a Hug, but my memory is a little fuzzy of what went on at that point. but yeah top night, was a bit groggy getting up the next day for work, but i did it and after some red bull and chicken crackers it wasnt so bad. tho would have been better to be at Fish's place for scones :(

second week has been going good so far too, monday was mostly finishing off work started last week and today was creating some new packaging in the morning, then we went for a free business lunch in Ivanhoe, had a really yummy pizza that had roast pumpkin and salami on it, yuuum, then back to the office to help the creative director clean up and sort the storage room and set up the photo studio area, was given a bunch of stuff that works fun but was jsut old stock they couldn't sell any more (score) and finished the day with a crash corse in Photography and got to play with a really awesome Camera and such. pretty cool.

rest of the week looks like its going to be good too, have some award night at the MCG for my step-dad who has been nominated for some "Agribusiness Award for Excellence" thing and i am looking forward to Oj/Kupp's Birday thingie on Friday! woot!

now for sleeep! huzzah!

ohh and some lyrics from a son i am really liking atm, its kinda cheesy but, WHATEV'S! i like it :p

Firefly - Owl City

You would not believe your eyes
If ten million fireflies
Lit up the world as I fell asleep

'Cause they'd fill the open air
And leave teardrops everywhere
You'd think me rude
But I would just stand and stare

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay
Awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems

'Cause I'd get a thousand hugs
From ten thousand lightning bugs
As they tried to teach me how to dance...

Update-e-o

Well things have been going on in the world of me,

Last Weekend i house sat for Charmaine and Geoff, which was great fun (apart from the last night) they have such lovley puppies and their cat is awsome too, i spent msot of my time playing with the dogs, playing rock band and watching movies which was nice, Luke visited me for lunch on sat which was great and Julian visited Sunday night, which turned into a pretty horrible night as at about 2am Ralph started throwing up all over the house, so i was up for ages cleaning up after him and making sure he was ok, he stopped at about 3am and i ended up sleeping on the couch with him curled on a towel encase he spewed again, fortunatly by about 8am when i had to be up and goan he seemed fine and gobbled down all his breakfast, when i went out to play with them a bit before i left i found that there were medical stuff littered all over the back yard, guessed the dog ate some of that which made him sick, he is fine, spewed it out of his system, silly dog! but apart from that one night it was great.

Finish the Cert 3 Retail course tomorrow which is great, its been nice meeting new people but i don't ever want to do a course like that again, talk about boring.

On the Job Front, i will be working for Converse at the new South Wharf DFO that starts on Sat and a job at Gecko Gear Australia as a full time Graphic designer which i am really excited about starting on Monday.

Have decided in order to earn some extra $$ for things such as new years and Rainbow i am going to try working both jobs for a while and see how it panns out, ie Converse on the weekend GGA during the week, since i have the Graphic Design job i am not to worried about the converse one not working out so i will just take it how it comes, and i get a 25% staff discount, so i will have to use that a bit before i leave :) i am a bit nervous that its all going to be a bit much, but i'm going to give it a shot and if i find it too exhausting its goodbye converse!

Feels good to have a plan!
